August 24, 2007, Newsletter Issue #130: Copyright Basics

Tip of the Week

According to current U.S. law, a written work is protected by copyright the moment it is created. Copyright protects original works of authorship including poetry, novels, movies, and songs. You do not need to register your copyright unless you wish to bring a lawsuit for infringement of a U.S. work. Copyright covers both published and unpublished works.
